Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the best hidden wonderkids on Football Manager 2024!
Omar Khedr / 16 / ZED (Aston Villa)
We kick off our list of hidden wonderkids on FM24 with an Egyptian winger who could easily be the next Mohamed Salah! Omar Khedr – the 16 year old winger – has already signed a contract with Aston Villa and will join the Birmingham-based side in the summer of 2024.
Even though you’re not able to sign this gifted winger in the first couple of seasons, he’s definitely one to watch and try to target if you get the chance.
Besides wonderful skills and great ball control, his Determination of 18 increases the chance of nurturing him into full potential. He’s best suited as an Inside Forward o an Inverted Winger as he got decent quickness, one-on-one abilities (dribbling, agility, balance and technique) as well as the vision, crossing and passing to create chances for his teammates. In the final third, his movement and work rate can help him come to goalscoring opportunities as he can use his quickness to make third man runs in behind the opposition’s defensive line.
Even though he might lack the maximum potential to become the next Mohamed Salah, his abilities on and off the ball draws similiarities.
Transfer value: €1.5 – €4Mill
Notable Attributes: Determination, Technique, Passing, Dribbling and Flair
Vasilije Adzic / 17 / Buducnost [24.3]
One of the new wonderkids for FM24 24.3 is the Montenegrin attacking midfielder Vasilije Adzic who plays for Buducnost. The 17-year-old hot prospect was dubbed to be signed by Juventus within the January transfer window by Fabrizio Romano but is still tied up to Buducnost.
In the Meridianbet 1. CFL, the exciting wonderkid has made 3 assists and scored 5 goals over 25 appearances.
In FM24, Vasilije Adzic stands out for his sublime ball control and ability to carry the ball into the final third. With 16 in dribbling, 12 in acceleration and 13 in flair, he could be described as the cheap alternative to Barcelona’s Pedri. Standing at 185cm tall and with strength of 11, Adzic can become a useful target at attacking set-pieces where he can either utilize his long shots and vision as a creator who sits on the edge of the penalty box, or use his physic to block the goalkeeper from claiming crosses towards the penalty spot.
With key attributes at 11 or higher for his position and best suited role (AMC-A or SS-A), Vasilije Adzic can develop into a great wonderkid gem on Football Manager 2024. His attacking directness with the ball can create chances on his own or play in his teammates up front. His tactical intelligence will be useful skills you can take advantage of in a player who is tasked to roam between the lines and create spaces with clever passes and movements in the final third.
Transfer value: €75K – €750K
Notable Attributes: Dribbling, Flair, Agility, Acceleration, Vision, Work Rate and Long Shots
Idan Toklomati / 18 / Maccabi Petach-Tikva
Idan Toklomati is an Israelic striker who can also be used as an Inside Forward or Inverted Winger. The versatile forward is very well-rounded with very few attributes below 11.
At the start of a new save, his abilities could make him a decent signing for Bundesliga 2, English League One, Eredivisie clubs or clubs at a similar standard.
Despite lacking composure and balance, Idan Toklomati has both the physic and athelticism to be a valuable asset both in aerial situations and on the counter.
He’s adept at holding up the ball as well as using his creativity to create chances for his teammates but is probably a greater asset in the final third as he can use his finishing and movement to come to goalscoring opportunities. Out of possession, he will have the stamina and aggression to hunt relentlessly for the ball.
The current Israelic Under-21 international has already made his debut in the Israelic top division and has scored 3 goals in 5 appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
Transfer value: €500K – €1.5Mill
Notable Attributes: Finishing, Work Rate, Acceleration and Aggression
Efe Akman / 17 / Galatasaray
The Eastern Europe features more hidden wonderkids outside the Israelian striker. Türkiye has been producing technical gifted players for years. From Arda Güler to Hakan Calhanoglu, the Turkish league has fed top clubs around the world with some amazing midfielders.
The next star to breakthrough might be Efe Akman. The 17-year old central midfielder was promoted to the first team of Galatasaray this summer but is yet to make his Süper Lig debut.
The current Turkish Under-18 international stands out for his playmaking abilites and on the ball skills. Comfortable with connecting the defence with midfield by making pin-pointed passes, sublime first-touch to with-stand pressure and a great vision makes Efe Akman a potential playmaking maestro!
You’ll be able to use him in a 4-2-3-1 as a double pivot or as a single holding defensive midfielder or central midfielder in a more traditional 4-3-3 possession tactic. His abilities in possession of the ball draws similarities to Xavi or Gavi.
Frankly, Efe Akman is probably one of thegreatest gems on Football Manager 2024 that you need to take a look at for your next save!
Notable Attributes: First touch, Technique, Vision and Passing
Transfer value: €700K – €2Mill
Xavi Grande / 18 / Levante
There’s not many right back wonderkids on Football Manager 2024 that’s available to sign. When you find one like Xavi Grande it feels like finding gold in the middle of the jungle.
At the age of 18, Xavi Grande looks like a cheaper alternative to more known Iván Fresneda. With no particular weaknesses and a well-rounded profile for his position, Xavi Grande looks like a great gem!
12 in acceleration and pace is coupled with teamwork, technique and first touch at a similar level. His tackling, stamina, dribbling and crossing isn’t far behind – all valuable skills for a modern full-back who needs to be as great out of possession as on the ball. His tactical smartness and concentration makes him into a reliable fullback who can both offer width by running up and down the left flank as well as keeping control of the opposing winger.
Transfer value: €400K – 1.2Mill
Heriberto Jurado / 18 / Necaxa
Heriberto Jurado is probably a familiar name to you as he has been on our wonderkids list since entering the game at 16. The current Mexican Under-23 international is a player of significant potential and could as great star as Roony Bardghji. However, the Mexican winger has a lot of development to do before reaching the same skills despite receiving 12 appearances in the Mexican Liga MX this season.
Rated as a more traditional winger as he hugs line on the left flank, the left-footed winger has decent abilities in one-on-one situations. He still needs to improve his tactical understanding in the final third and awareness of the game but got decent quickness and mobility to be a direct threat.
Hopefully, Heriberto Jurado could be one of these ‘late bloomers’ who can significantly improve his physical, mental and technical abilities if being signed to an European top club and be given three to five years to blossom.
Heriberto Jurado can definitely become a great signing if you let him get the necessar time and experience. If reaching his maximum potential he could become a star player for any teams across the world!
Transfer value: €1 – 3Mill
Notable Attributes: Dribbling, Agility, Flair and Technique
Ibrahim Diarra / 16 / Africa Foot [24.3]
Ibrahim Diarra is probably the archetype of a hidden wonderkid on Football Manager. The only way to discover him on FM24 is by using an extensive database of hundreds of thousand of players or increase the scouting knowledge of the African continent.
As one of few African wonderkids you should know of, the highly skillful wide playmaker or Inverted winger are one of the most exciting talents currently based in Africa. Rumoured to be on Barcelona’s list of potential signings, the captain of the Malian Under-17 national team was one of the best performers at the U17 World Cup 2023 with five goals and four assists – something that helped the African team secure the third place by winning 3-0 against favorites Argentina.
In FM24, the highly skilled winger has everything you desire in a creative winger. Besides being incredible in one-on-one situations and could be dubbed as the next Neymar, the 16 year old winger has everything needed to succeed on the international stage.
In reality, he has some of the same skillset as more reputated Claudio Echeverri and could play as an attacking midfielder or on the left wing if required to. His skills in front of the goal, crossing and passing makes him able to both score and create chances – everything you desire in an Inside Forward.
In FM24, the hot prospect is available on an approach to sign, meaning you will only need to pay a compensation fee. Here’s a great chance to sign, develop and sell for profit as you are looking at the potential next Mo Salah!
Transfer value: €0 (Approach to Sign)
Notable Attributes: Dribbling, Passing, First Touch, Technique, Vision, Agility and Flair
Damián Pizarro / 18 / Colo Colo
Damián Pizarro is one of the rising ballers in Chilean football. The 18 year old striker has attracted interest from Brentford after 6 goals and 6 assists overe 31 appearances for Colo Colo over four different tournaments and competitions.
His remarkable performances in Copa Libertadores and in the Primera Division led to being called-up to the Chilean national team for the Pan-American games where Chile won silver medal.
In FM24, Damián Pizarro is a physical imposing Target forward. Standing out for his work rate, team work and off the ball movement, he is capable of scoring goals both from aerial situations and through combination play. His abilities inside the box could be better as he lacks the composure in the most crucial moments, but his heading, bravery and strength can help his teammates to get the necessary space to get clean on goal.
His overall abilities as a complete forward makes him into a valueable striker partner – especially if combining him with a more creative and pacy poacher.
His maximum potential is on the lower end of the scale compared to some of the others, but could make a great bargain for Italian, Belgian or Dutch sides.
Transfer value: €500K – 1.5Mill
Saliou Faye / 17 / Generation Foot [24.3]
On the subject of hidden African wonderkids we came across another exciting talent – this time in Senegal. This time, I came to the attention of Saliou Faye – a central midfielder who could also play as an attacking midfielder.
The 17-year-old midfielder can become a wonderful signing for the Mezzala role or as an CM-A. Saliou Faye can be described as a modern midfielder who can shine in the 8.5 role. With quickness and movements, he can make those darting runs from deep and work in the right half space just like Martin Ødegaard or Kevin de Bruyne.
Standing out for his great ball control (first touch, technique and passing), you are looking at a creative midfielder who can make attacking movements and third man runs in between the channels of opposing FB and DC. With 14 in long shots he can become a second threat from outside of the penalty box by finishing off chances from far – something that may be useful against teams sitting in a deep block. With penetrating runs as a huge threat, he can also find the net from inside the penalty box with 13 in finishing resulting in lots of goals from a player that starts deep in a 4-3-3 formation.
Transfer value: €20K – 170K
Notable Attributes: Acceleration and Pace, Off the ball, First Touch, Flair, Vision and Passing
Brayan Mateo Caicedo / 16 / Leones
Mateo Caicedo came to our attention when Guardian looked at the best young talents of the 2006 generation earlier in October. Here he was mentioned in the same breath as wonderkids like Julian Duranville, Kauã Elias, Endrick and Noah Darvich. However, for many he will probably be an unknown name despite already having signed a pre-contract with FC Porto.
The Colombian winger could be described as a rough diamond in the making. In FM24, he needs to improve his mental abilities but for a 16-year-old he got great physic and technical abilities – especially in terms of close control and finishing.
He stands out for his decision-making and creativity with the ball, something that makes him able to create chances for his teammates and being that unpredictable player the team needs to unlock the opposition’s defensive block.
Add 2-3 attribute points to his current profile and you’ll have a wonderful player at the age of 20! Make sure to follow his progress and take the chance of signing him at the first opportunity!
Transfer value: €0*
*Future Transfer Agreed with Porto
Notable Attributes: Finishing, First Touch, Flair, Vision and Passing
Peio Huestamendia / 16 / Athletic Bilbao
Peio Huestamendia was one of many young talents you got acquinted to when downloading the Passion4FM NextGen wonderkids database for FM23. In some ways, he’s probably not the most hidden wonderkid on FM24 but is definitely a great cheap gem you need to be aware of!
The Spanish winger is yet to get his break through but are one of the more interesting players within the Spanish Under-17 national team. 2 days ago, he received 10 minutes at the FIFA U-17 World Cup match against Canada.
Able to play at both flanks, the Basque-born player stands out for his quickness and unpreditability – both necessary skills for modern wingers. However, he can also play as an attacking midfielder or a central midfielder if required as his ball control and passing is good.
Even though his price tag is on the higher scale, his skills can be worth more than 5x as much a few years into the future.
Transfer value: €1.5-4.5Mill*
* Minimum Fee Release Clause: €10Million
Notable Attributes: Acceleration, Flair, Crossing and Dribbling
Daniel Daga / 16 / Enyimba
Daniel Daga is one of the wonderkids we included in our NextGen wonderkids database. Expectations were high to find out how Sports Interactive would rate Daniel Daga on FM24.
As you would prpbably tell by now, but I’m a sucker for talents with great close control, vision and passing. Daniel Daga is no exception. On top of it, he got great work rate, tackling and aggression – all important traits for the modern central midfielders who needs to be as great on the ball as hunting for possession.
Don’t be fooled by his FM24 player profile, as he can develop massively both in terms of mental and technical abilities in the years to come! He’s definitely one of the more interesting talents on FM24 – such as Karim Konate was in FM22.
Transfer value: €40K-110K
Elio Rufener / 16 / Young Boys
Elio Rufener is a Swiss defensive midfielder that ticks off the boxes to become a wonderful playmaker in the future! Elio Rufener is one of many exciting prospects erupting in Switzerland these days. Along with Barcelona’s new wonderkid Eman Kospo and Basel’s Marvin Akahomen, Elio Rufener has provided the defensive security for Switzerland Under-17 national team.
This season, Rufener has made 4 goals in 5 appearances in the U19 Elite League as well as ranking up 238 minutes over four appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
In FM24, Elio Rufener stands out for his ball control and playmaking abilities. A typical player that’s best suited in a double pivot with a more aggressive ball-winning midfielder alongside him, or as a more traditional number 8, who can neatly progress the ball with combination play.
His abilities with the ball and especially in one-on-one situations makes him into a decent press-resistant midfielder. With his maximum potential to become as good as Martin Zubimendi, this wonderkid from SWitzerland is one to definitely keep tabs on.
Transfer value: €1.5-4.5Mill’
Notable Attributes: Vision, Teamwork, Anticipation, Passing
Emmanuel Michael / 17 / Simoiben
This Nigerian wonderkid is the archtype of Football Manager 2024’s cheap hidden gems! For less than €200K you’ll be able to sign one of the best African-based wonderkids on Football Manager 2024. In fact, he’s so unknown that he’s not even listed on Transfermarkt!
Emmanuel Michael is a 17 year old fullback playing for Simoiben FC.
His FM24 player profile describes a defensive solid fullback with the necessary pace and decision-making to keep control of pacy wingers and forwards. With a well-rounded player profile with 10 in most of the essential attributes for a fullback, this Nigerian fullback could be wonderful gem in the future!
Transfer value: €60K-190K
Notable Attributes: Acceleration, Pace, Tackling, Decisions and Crossing
Callan McKenna / 16 / Queen’s Park
From the club that introduced the possession game with an early version of Tiki-Taka Queen’s Park is fortunate to have one of the best goalkeeping wonderkids in UK within their ranks.
Callan McKenna is a Scottish goalkeeper that has already debuted for Queen’s Park’s first team, something that has attracted the attention from Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd, amongst others. After his promising debut in July 2023, he has received seven appearances for Queen’s Park resulting in 15 conceded goals and one clean sheet.
The sweeper keeper has many years to develop into a regular Scottish international but right from the start his FM24 player profile describes a wonderful player with really few weaknesses to his game.
Standing out for his ability to sweep-up through balls and become that extra defender if playing with a high defensive line due to his great one-on-one abilities, bravery to close down and limit space and time for the opposing forward who are through to the goal, as well as his aniticipation.
For the moment, Callan McKenna is better in possession of the ball rather than orchestrating his defense. Lacking some aerial reach and communication are worthy areas to improve, but when it comes to Kicking and Passing, his skills at distributing the ball draws similarities to Ederson or Manuel Neuer.
Remember he’s only 16 despite his current profile might not look like it!
Sky’s the limit for one of the best hidden wonderkids on Football Manager 2024! You just need to sign him up as fast as possible!
Transfer value: €250K-2.5Mill
Notable Attributes: Composure, One on Ones, Kicking and Anticipation
Jano Monserrate / 17 / Real Zaragoza
Jano Monserrate is probably one of the cheapest wonderkids bargains on FM24. For under €100K, you’re able to get an attacking midfielder gifted with flair, quickness, dribbling and composure.
The Spanish talent has a decent all-round player profile but could be regarded as a deadball specialist.
In reality, Jano Monserrate is a highly unknown player as he’s never been called up to any of the Spanish youth national teams, and he has only received 5 minutes of action for Real Zaragoza’s Under-19s.
However, in Football Manager 2024, Jano Monserrate has the potential to become an international player in the same level of Sergio Canales, Marcus Thuram or Leandro Trossard.
