Introducing the Football Manager 2024 Training Schedules Megapack by Passion4FM
A Background
The Passion4FM’s training schedules megapack was first released for Football Manager 2020. At the time, it was probably one of the first ones created by, and made available to, the Football Manager Community. Since then, our training schedules has been a huge hit with over 50,000 downloads. Despite we were never able to release the megapack for FM23 due to unforseen curcumstances, after a one-year hiatus, we are proud to present the FM24 Training schedules megapack by Passion4FM.com.
In the first release of the training schedules megapack, it featured tailor-made schedules for Tiki-Taka tactics and other football philosophies based on a possession game. Since then we have added hand-picked training sessions to make specific training schedules for each tactical style on Football Manager.
For Football Manager 2024, you’ll be to experient training schedules for both youth teams and first team players – all tailored to enhance the tactical understanding, physical condition and otherwise prepare your team for the next match or boost youth development on Football Manager.
The Benefit
This megapack looks to help everyone who has never bothered with setting up training schedules themselves but left it to their assistant manager, or wish to get a more tailored training to improve the development of the player’s or increase the tactical familiarity of your player’s role and duty.
While it may be nothing wrong by letting your assistant manager be responsible for training, his characteristics and tactical style must fit your tactics in order to get appropriate training schedules popping up in the calendar. If he has contradicting qualifications or skills, the effect it may have on your tactics and the results not only in fixtures but also in the development of players may be devastating.
To be honest, the default training schedules in Football Manager 2024 is great and I would recommend to try them out if you don’t bother setting up training schedules yourself. However, by incorporating our unique training schedules, you can better optimize and revolutionize the team’s training and boost player development on a scale you probably haven’t seen before!
We hope you will enjoy this training schedules megapack!
What’s included in the FM24 Training Schedules Megapack?
The first version features over 80 training schedules, but I’ll frequently update it according to requests and personal needs I may encounter through my saves. Most of these schedules can be used in combination with each other, at least for the ones who are fairly similar in the tactical style, for instance counter-attacking and gegenpressing, or vertical Tiki-Taka, Tiki-Taka and control possession. To be fair, how you set up your team’s training based on these different football philsophies isn’t that differently, as you will need to target most of the same player attributes.
If we look at things from a wider perspective, all players requires decent levels into a few necessary attributes to perform better within the match engine. For instance, all players requires decent levels of Work Rate, Natural Fitness, Decision-making and Teamwork to play well. Then you also need to think about attributes in relationship to eachother – meaning that you would like to improve specific sets of attributes regardless of the tactics you are using.
With minimal knowledge, but some insight into your tactic you can use one of my schedules as a framework and simply change one or two sessions to fit your tactic (e.g attacking patient compared to attacking direct or transition press in stead of transition restrict depending on your pressing intensity).
Enhance tactical understanding for First Team Players
The Football Manager 2024 Training Schedules Megapack by Passion4FM.com includes over 80 different types of training schedules. From schedules focusing on improving the players physical condition through a pre-season training regime, to specific training schedules for possession tactics like Barcelona’s Tiki-Taka tactics, counter-attacking tactics or other similar styles of play which uses gegenpressing or counter-pressing as a tool to win possession high up the pitch and take advantage of the transition phases to come to goalscoring opportuinities, our megapack of Football Manager 2024 training schedules has taken everything into account.
Boost youth development …
Apart from a number of training schedules to maximize the tactical understanding of a specific playing style for the first team squad’s players, we have integrated a number of brilliant youth development training schedules that helps to maximise the progress of your squads best talents and wonderkids on Football Manager 2024.
Included in the FM24 training schedules megapack we have tried to replicate AJAX’s TIPS training model by creating specific training schedules to improve player’s technique, mental and physical capabilities, just as if the players where on the training pitch at The Toekomst.
With unique training schedules for Technique, Insight and Speed which you can import into the youth team’s training calendar, you can choose to improve tactical knowledge, quickness in both decision-making and distance coverage, or emphasize the progress of player’s ball controll and required attributes to be in possession of the ball.
All in all, our training schedules megapack for Football Manager 2024 features schedules for the most important tactical styles on Football Manager. Many of you will probably enjoy the huge empasize we have put into our Tiki-Taka training schedules which goes hand in hand with the Barcelona Tiki-Taka tactics or any other Pep Guardiola tactics. The Tiki-Taka training schedules will also fit other tactics that are based on a possession-style of football where you use high pressing to dominate over the opposition.
Enhance Squad Performances at Non-League Football
New for Football Manager 2024 is tailored training schedules for non-league football. Since more and more people are enjoying the affair of managing in the lower leagues we have put an effort into delivering targetted training schedules to get the most out of your amateur players.
These schedules for LLM saves will be a perfect companion for amateur clubs who only got three training days per week.
Other Scenarios…?
The pack also includes both specific training models for in-possession and out of possession for each tactical style, but these schedules can also be seen in relationship with the specific scenario schedules; ‘Convert Chances & Score More Goals’ (attacking phase), ‘Shut up Shop’ (defending phase) and ‘Tiki Taka Technical’ which can be used in cohesion with the ‘Control Possession’.
The principals behind Passion4FM’s Training Schedules
All of these schedules are created according to some principals I have;
- I try to balance out training with every other day a higher and lighter intensity
- All sessions must focus on important attributes for the playing style (e.g. anticipation, technique, passing for a possession game)
- Schedules are laid out in such a way that both technical and tactical areas of their game are improved. Especially when it comes to the first team’s training – where match preprations are emphasized more than player development. On the contrary, this is the complete opposite in the youth schedules. Here all focus is put on improving players physical abilities to withstand an higher training workload over the coming years.
- The closer to the weekend, more focus is put into match preparations and tactical familiarity (for first team training schedules).
- For the schedules where either goalkeeping, set-pieces or match preparation sessions are selected, you are free to either removed or change training to a more suitable training session to counter the strength or weaknesses of the next opposition based on pre-match tactical analysis.
- Monday sessions can either be used as-is, or changed to a lighter session to recover from the match AND work on the key aspects of the tactic) or be altered to working on specific issues from the last match (perhaps areas of the game they were particularly weak at). For FM24, we have used Monday and Wednesday sessions to boost the development of the player’s abilities. You will notice that the intensity of training is a bit higher than what it has been in earlier versions without increasing the number of injuries.
- I select at least one rest day of the week, normally after the match at weekends to ensure they recover their physical condition for the next training week. However, you can also use the day after a match to work on players individual role for the players that wasn’t called-up to the match.
You will encounter that some schedules have been created for both Saturday and Sunday matches, while some even have the ability to be used when you play midweek matches as well. If you should not find a particular schedule that takes into account the correct match day as in your save (e.g- Sunday matches), please move the training sessions one day backward/forward and set recovery session on the day after the match.
You can also remove all extra sessions if you like or reduce the workload by splitting the sessions up in training week 1 and training week 2, so they will work on all the areas in a 14 day period.
You will also see training sessions for specific scenarios. For example;
- the teamwork schedule is perfect when you’ve bought a number of players and/or you’d like to improve the team cohesion in Squad Dynamics.
- the shut-up shop is perfect to be used (no matter the tactical style with minor modifications) when playing against a superior opponent in the next match or the team has conceded a lot of goals in the past matches.
- the create chances and score more goals is perfect (no matter the tactical style with minor modifications) when the team will face an inferior opponent in the next match or your team has squandered with their chances and shots.
P.S. I will not explain every training session in detail here nor publish a screenshot of it, so please download and take a closer look at them.

How to set up training & using the TIPS training schedules?
With a number of different training schedules available to use, the question my arise; how do I set up training and select which training schedules to use? The short answer is, it depends.
It might depend on when in the season you are, which opponent you are going to face in the next match – their strengths and weaknesses and what you want to empasize in terms of valuable or necessary attributes.
Basically, you are free to mix and match different training schedules. For instance, you might use one week focusing on the in-possession or attacking style of play for your preferred tactical style as you’re up against a weaker opponent. Then in the next week, you might want to use a more defensive training schedule focusing on the transition phases or out of possession aspects of your tactics as your opponent is more dangerous in attacking transitions or overall better than you in the attacking phase – meaning that you anticipate your team to spend more time defending than attacking.
However, the training schedules named general or default is meant to be used over a longer time period. If you are adopting a specific football philosophy that is quite different to what the team is used to, you will need to think ‘basic learning’ of the tactical style with a general approach to improving the tactical familiarity of roles and duties, necessary skills for the tactics to work rather than short term success.
My approach in these circumstances, is to apply one schedule, e.g ‘Tiki-Taka default’, for up to 6 months but not less than 3 months. At the beginning of the season, I would normally apply Pre-Season training until the last week before the fixture openings. Then a teamwork session, before adding a default schedule for the next months.
By focusing on specific attributes for a longer period of time, you have an higher probability to see a bigger increase in those attributes. But keep an eye out and monitor their training happiness. Their training progress and development may halt if they get bored by the training. To keep the players happy on the training pitch, it would be smart to change their training now and then and make sure all training units gets equal focus and training impact.
When it comes to youth development, you have the option to use one schedule for the entire season. In these circumstances, I would recommend to apply the General youth training schedules. These schedules has been targeted to improve both the physical, mental and technical abilities of the Under-18 players.
The youth training schedules has less focus on match preparations compared to first team training schedules, as their development is boosted by training rather than playing matches.
You can get futher tips on how to boost the progress of your youth in The Ultimate Youth Development Guide.
When using the TIPS training schedules, my main idea is that you use one schedule per week. However, in Football Manager 24, I’ve seen better youth progress by applying each TIPS training schedule three to four months at a time.
To boost development, I normally kick things off with 3 months of General Youth Training before selecting Technique for three months and finally Insight for three months, until the end of the season.
Due to the higher intensity of, and increased risk of injuries with the Speed Training Schedule, I normally apply that schedule to a week without any matches and oftenly at the end of a training month where I have focused on Technique or Insight for the first four weeks. For instance, it can be selected for any training months with five to six training weeks.
*NB! You will need to scroll down to see and apply training schedules for months with six training weeks in the Calendar.
When applying the TIPS training model, a training month for the Under-18s can look like this:
As you will notice, I have split up training of the TIPS training model into three different schedules – entitled Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3. The idea behind this is to better target more of the technical attributes and let the players experienced a more varied training without hurting their development.
When I apply the training week is more a matter of the fixture list than applying them into a chronological order. For instance, if you got a match on Wednesday, I would not select the Insight – Week 3 which has an Endurance session on Monday morning. After all, you need to balance out the workload of the youth players so you don’t burn them out early on in their youth career. But focusing on Natural Fitness, Stamina and Work Rate will be favourable for all players – so they can withstand an higher training load and match load in the long run.
In the end, I don’t want you to feel restricted to use my approach either. Every team is unique with different individual player’s injury susceptibility, personalities and coaching teams to aid or hinder development.
I hope you will enjoy my comprehensive training schedules megapack for Football Manager 2024.
By downloading the megapack, I hope you’ll get the motivation and fascination to create your own schedules which fit your tactic and the long-term plan for your club, BUT if you got a certain tactic you’d like a training schedule for, I would happily create a unique schedule for you (with the time I got available). The only condition is that the individual schedule will be added to the megapack, so more people can enjoy it.
Disclaimer: These schedules are not creating with the intention of improving the development rate of your players or make them reach their current ability as fast as possible. Instead, they are created with the idea of incorporating a training philosophy at the club where the team works on important areas for the tactic (e.g. improving key attributes and aspects of the game model and specific tactical instructions).
PS! To increase the development ratio of players we have re-worked the schedules to increase progress.
