About the 2007-08 Throwback Database for FM24
This 2007-08 throwback database for Football Manager 2024 is founded upon the Football Manager 2008 edition. tHeMAdSCienTiSt has transferred all the players and squads from FM08 into FM24 – meaning you will be able to experience the exact leagues, squads and player skills as they were in 2007/08 on Football Manager. This includes copying all the player attributes, CAs and PAs manually from FM08 to FM24, so you have the chance to manage all the legends and wonderkids from that time, in the modern Football Manager match engine.
This retro database for Football Manager 24 takes place around Manchester United’s second golden era. After winning their 16th Premier league trophy the year before, Alex Ferguson’s United would go on to achieve the European double by winning the Champions League for the third, and so-far last time.
At Barcelona, it was a club in transition. Finishing on the third place in La Liga 2007-08, Frank Rijkaard was replaced by Josep Guardiola for the following season. It would also be the last season for Ronaldinho at Barcelona, meanwhile La Masia’s wonderboy Bojan had his breakthrough season. Alongside them, you have Barcelona wonderkid Lionel Messi at the age of 20.
In England, Birmingham and Sunderland promoted to the EPL 2007-08 meanwhile Charlton relegated from the Premier League – and has never been able to recoup the feat of playing in the top flight of English football ever since.
In 2007 there were lots of wonderkids that would go onto make a significant impact on todays football. Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Karim Benzema are just some of the many wonderkids on this 2007-08 database.
This sneak-peak video of the coming database let you discover some of the best players from that memorable 2007-08 season.

You can either watch the full video guide below or follow the instructions below. Here we’ll cover:
- how to install and run the database
- how to add retro cut-out faces and kits
- how to install @Warringtini‘s Retro Regen add-on
To get the full experience please read the instructions below.
1. Installing the Save Game File
The save game file has everything loaded, every playable league and all created players.
Move the file into: Your Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/Games
folder
Run FM24 and go to Load game then select the 2007/08 DB file and you’re good to go.
USEFUL TIP! When asked to save your career, make sure to select another name than the default otherwise the database will be overwritten and you need to download it again.
2. Playing with the FMF Editor file
The fmf file can be opened with the editor or to setup a custom career. It’s a viable option to the save game file.
Move the file into: Your Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/Editor data
folder.
When using the .fmf file its important that you select the Football Manager 2024 24.0.0 database as it won’t work properly with an updated FM24 database.
- When starting a new career click the button at the top right corner saying DATABASE. Then click on the 24.3.0 button and select the Football Manager 2024 database instead.*
The 07/08 database does NOT WORK with any updated FM databases. - Tick ‘The 2007/08 DB’ box – Make sure no other editor data files are ticked!
- Click Confirm and Choose Advanced Setup
- Choose your preferred leagues out of the playable leagues.
- Then press Approximate Player Count and choose ‘Advanced’
- Select the nations you want to load players from besides the active leagues, to make sure that as many players as possible will be loaded.
- Tick the boxes saying Players Based in Nation – Even if your computer says that the number of players exceeds the recommended level it will only load the approximately 16.000 players which is created in the DB.
- Finally, press Start Game and enjoy the nostalgia trip.
Hope you’ll enjoy this throwback database!
NB! MAKE SURE TO CHOOSE THE FOOTBALL MANAGER 2024 DEFAULT 24.0.0. DATABASE WHEN SETTING UP A NEW CAREER. IF YOU CHOOSE A FM DATABASE WITH AN UPDATE, IT WILL CONFLICT WITH THE 2007/08 DB.
