FM26 Arteta’s Arsenal Tactic for 2025/26 Recreated [26.1.3 ME]

Football Manager 26 Mikel Arteta Arsenal 25/26 tactic recreated by FM DNA

Over the last few seasons, Arsenal under Mikel Arteta has evolved into one of the most tactically sophisticated teams in Europe. With an outstanding records of conceding the least amount of goals in Premier League in the last three seasons, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal has established themselves into one of the top teams in the world. His philosophy blends positional play, aggressive pressing, and structural control into a system that dominates possession while remaining defensively secure.

As a disciple of Josep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta has taken positional play a step forward – turning Arsenal into a title contender. Although they have come closer and closer, Arsenal has not won the Premier League since 2003/04 under Arsene Wenger’s and the The Invincibles days, but this season they got one hand on the trophy!

Arsenal’s performance under Mikel Arteta deserves recognition through a tactical recreation on FM26!

This is precicely what I’ve set out to do – recreating Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal tactics in the 2025/26 season and translate it into Football Manager 2026.

For Football Manager 26 players, recreating this approach offers the perfect balance between realism and elite performance as I aim to incorporate and replicate Mikel Arteta’s tactical philosophy at Arsenal into FM26. for anyone who desire’s to mimic Arsenal’s 4-2-3-1 tactic under Mikel Arteta, let us take a closer look at how I tried to emulate Arteta’s outstanding style of play in Football Manager 26.

About Arteta’s Arsenal Tactic for Football Manager 26

For my version of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal tactic, the goal was to build something that is:

  • Realistic to Arteta’s tactical identity
  • Strong in the FM26 match engine
  • Stable on the latest update (26.1.3)
  • Plug and play for most saves

This system focuses on positional play, structured pressing, and controlled possession while still creating consistent goal scoring output.

Tactical Philosophy of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal

At its core, Arteta’s Arsenal is built on control through structure.

This tactic is built around three core ideas:

Positional Control
The team maintains strong structure in possession, creating overloads in midfield and half spaces.

High Pressing Intensity
The team presses high up the pitch and counter-presses immediately after losing the ball.

Attacking Width + Central Overloads
Wide players stretch defences while central midfield rotations create passing lanes and chances.

Formation

The team typically begins in a 4-3-3 but fluidly morphs during different phases of play, particularly into a 3-2-5 attacking shape that floods the final third with five attacking lanes while maintaining a stable rest defence behind the ball.

The shape provides:

  • Defensive stability with a double pivot
  • Creative freedom for the attacking midfield three
  • Strong pressing structure out of possession
  • Good transition into attacking overloads

The double pivot is key to both build up and defensive protection.

Final Thoughts

This is a system built to balance realism and performance.

It reflects how modern top teams — especially Arsenal under Arteta — control games through structure, pressing, and intelligent movement rather than chaos or direct play alone.

If you want a tactic that feels like real football while still delivering results in FM26, this system is designed for that.
