5 Brazilian Wonderkids in FM23 You Should Sign for any Cost!
André – Fluminense
Age: 21
Best Position: Defensive Midfielder
Preferred Role: Ball-Winning Midfielder
Need a hard-working midfielder who can tear the opposition apart with his physic and tireless effort to regain possession in the middle of the park? Then you need to check out André at Fluminense!
The 21 year-old defensive midfielder got his Serie A debut in 2020 but has really made a remark in the last two seasons by becoming one of the key players in Fluminense’s title bid. With consistent performances, André has impressed with his passing at a possession hungry Fluminense side.
André fits the 4-2-3-1 system perfectly. You can either use him as a ball-winning midfielder by profiting from his abilities to make time challenges, or considering using him as a segundo volante by putting attention to his work rate and off the ball movement.
His anticipation, technique, first touch, vision and passing makes him into an ideal player for anyone preferring to adopt a Tiki-Taka tactical style at the club. For around €25Mill, he could be yours!
Minimum fee release clause foreign clubs: €40Mill
Endrick – Palmeiras
Age: 16
Best Position: Striker
Preferred Role: Advanced Forward
Endrick is one of those wonderkids that’s on everyone’s lips. The current Under-20 Brazilian national team player has just signed a €35Million pre-agreement with Real Madrid after all the big clubs in Europe was ready to everything to get him. Luckily, there are still a chance to try to sign Endrick on Football Manager 2023 – at least until the winter transfer update comes at the beginning of March.
At Palmeiras, Endrick has made some magnificent performances lately. The striker has scored 3 goals in 7 appearances for the first team. When he joined the Brazil Under-17 national team in April, he scored 5 goals in 4 appearances. Goals has always been closely linked to his name. He’s basically the synonym of a clinical striker – being able to score from all ranges and angles.
Apart from his long shots and finishing inside the penalty box, the unpredictability he gives the team makes him very difficult to pick up. Frankly, he’s a merge between Neymar and Romario – reasons enough to splash the cash on him on FM23 whilst you can without emptying the bank completely!
Minimum fee release clause foreign clubs: €21Mill
Appr. Transfer cost: €21-25Mill
Marcos Leonardo – Santos
Age: 19
Best Position: Striker
Preferred Role: Poacher / Advanced Forward
Marcos Leonardo is just one of the many Brazilian wonderkids coming through the Santos Academy these days. Along with Ângelo (17), who is topping the chart for most assists for players in Brasilieirão Serie A under the age of 23, Marcos Leonardo have scored 13 goals in 34 appearances. This makes these two players, the most important players in the squad as both are topping the chart for assists and goals for the club.
What he could do with a little more experience and better teammates can only Football Manager 2023 predict, but it’s clear Marcos Leonardo could well be the next striker from Brazil that takes Europe with storm. His finishing and acceleration could well be the perfect signing for Chelsea, as they need a fox in the box player. His abilities could also be a great replacement for the lack of speed and technical abilities with the ball Sadio Mané provided to the Liverpool squad.
Minimum fee release clause foreign clubs: €67Mill
Appr. Transfer cost: €15-25Mill
Andrey Santos – Vasco da Gama
Age: 18
Best Position: Central Midfielder
Preferred Role: Advanced Playmaker
Andrey Santos is one of the players frequently popping up in the transfer rumour columns lately. The defensive midfielder, who have made some impressive performances for Vasco da Gama’s return to the top flight is reportedly being in talks with Chelsea and Newcastle over a move to Europe.
Labelled as one of the most exciting players in Brazil, Andrey Santos’ style of play have been compared to Sergio Busquets. With tactical intelligence and technique he’s able to protect the defensive line from breaks as well as retaining possession despite being put under pressure. In fact, he excels in tight spaces by letting him take advantage of his agility, technique and flair.
For Vasco da Gama, Andrey Santos have altered between being used as a defensive midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 formation, or as a central midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation. Whether you prefer to use him in the Mezzala, Advanced Playmaker or Segundo Volante role is up to you, but his box-to-box abilities and penetrating runs can lead the player to score a number of goals. For Vasco da Gama, he has scored 8 goals in 34 appearances making him into one of the most important players at the club. No wonder, some of the biggest clubs in Europe are monitoring his progress.

Guilherme Biro – Corinthians
Guilherme Biro is one of the latest talents to make his debut in Brasileirão Serie A in 2022. His debut came initially in March 2022 when he started against Fluminense on the right wing. After the 4-0 loss, Guilherme Biro had to wait seven months for his next and so far final chance for the first team of Corinthians.
In the meantime, Biro have produced some great performances for Corinthians U20. In the Copinha 2022 he has made 3 assists in four appearances, while he has scored four goals in 10 appearances in the Brazilian Under-20 league.
In FM23, Biro is a versatile player that could be trained in a number of positions and roles to fit your team. You will probably favor to use him as an Advanced Playmaker in a 4-2-3-1 system or a 4-3-2-1 tactic, but can be used both as an inverted winger on the right, or a traditional winger on the left.
What attracts my attention is Biro’s rather favorable price compared to Palmeiras’ 18-year old Giovani alongside his Vision and ball control. His ability to get past his marker and create spaces by carries and dribbles makes him into a favorable player to create numerical superiority in the half spaces as he can use his passing and technique to make through balls to feed the strikers.
