What has been done to XaW’sFM23 Norwegian Lower League Database?
- Removed the view-only part for the 4th tier
- Added the 5th tier, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th
- Changed the names of all divisions and some teams to make them more as one would expect (removed FK, IL, etc from short name whenever I’ve spotted it)
A few things to note.
- The 2020 season did not play in Norway due to covid, so there are no history there
- Relegation and promotions at this level is notoriously random, so I’ve set it up as a “best guess”.
- I have not included reserve teams beyone 3rd teams. So 4th teams and 5th teams are just not added.
- I’ve not created all stadiums, and rather consolidated teams at the lower leagues to my best guess at the closest stadium to avoid spending hours and hours on creating them.
- All schools are set to “Always amateur”, it worth mentioning, I feel. Examples are NTNUI, all team who has “student” in their name. If you are unsure, do a quick google to make sure.

Known Issues
Occasionally teams enter divisions outside their set region even if their regional divisions are set correctly. Suspect it’s a balancing issue in the game.
NB! With our real names fix applied, you’ll experience the real names of all regional competitions and cups including youth tournaments.
Selecting the Start Date
As you might know, the Norwegian football league is one of few that goes from March to December – mostly due to the cold winters that make laying outdoors football ineligible.
To get straight into the action we recommend selecting February 28th, 2022 as the start date of your Norwegian lower league experience.
This will ensure you will kick off the journey with a full pre-season.
Norwegian Lower League Save ideas
By downloading you’ll get the opportunity to try a tough restore the glory or youth development challenge with Lyn FK who have won 8 NM cup trophies and a large number of regional championships with their youth teams.
Lyn FK is a former premier division club and one of the oldest clubs in Norway which is famous for its profitable youth development program.
Despite the financial situations of most clubs in Norway being poor, you now got the ability to take control of Lysekloster in the Norsk-Tipping Ligaen avdeling 4 (4th level / division 4) – one of few sugar daddy clubs in Scandinavia.
By unlocking the fourth division of Norway you’ll get the opportunity to manage a number of former giants and up-and-coming clubs. NTNUI for example is a club founded upon students at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has become one of the largest and most diverse sports associations in Norway with over 12000 members throughout 70 different sport genres.
Hønefoss BK was part of Eliteserien in 2012, but finds itself in the fourth division together with the newest club to be founded in the world.. as far as I know. FK Eik Tønsberg got its name on the January 1st 2020 after a merger with FK Tønsberg. FK Tønsberg was the club who Norwegian Tottenham Hotspur legend Erik Thorstvedt started off his professional career before eventually making his breakthrough at Viking.
NB! You will need to start a new save in order to make these changes come to effect.
A Football Manager 2023 database which unlocks the Norwegian football league system down to level 11 (10th division) and provides you with the real names of Norwegian cups, regional competitions and professional divisions.
